Signs your water heater is failing

Water heaters rarely die without warning. The trick is recognizing the symptoms before you wake up to a flooded garage. Call us if you notice:

Tank vs. tankless — which is right for you?

Tank water heaters are the lower upfront cost option, simpler to service, and a great fit if you already have a 40 or 50-gallon tank in a closet, garage, or attic. We typically install Rheem, AO Smith, and Bradford White tanks. Most tank installs in San Jose can be done in 3–4 hours.

Tankless water heaters (Navien, Rinnai, Rheem) cost more upfront but last almost twice as long, take up a fraction of the wall space, and give you endless hot water. They also cut your gas bill — there's no standing tank to keep heated 24/7. If you're considering a remodel or running out of capacity for a growing family, tankless is usually the right call.

Our installation process

1. On-site assessment. We measure your space, check the venting, gas line size, and water pressure, and confirm what unit will actually fit. We never quote sight unseen.

2. Code-compliant install. Every install includes proper venting, a temperature/pressure relief valve and discharge line, an expansion tank if your home has a check valve or PRV, and California-required seismic strapping (two straps — upper and lower). Skipping these is what gets homeowners into trouble during a sale or claim.

3. Removal and disposal. We haul the old unit away, drain it on-site, and recycle it.

4. Walkthrough. Before we leave, we run hot water at every fixture, check for leaks at every fitting, and walk you through the controls, the warranty, and how to flush sediment annually.
